And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth
nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them; 1 Nephi 17:3

Hello!

This week was pretty good! We had interviews with President on Wednesday and those were awesome as usual! President Hughes is such a nice man! The rest of the week was pretty normal except for Friday. So on Friday we went and saw Ashtin who is 14 years old and we read 1 Nephi 8 with him and talked about Lehi's dream and how we can obtain the word of God and invited him to come to church. He actually came to church on Sunday which was awesome! He told his mom he had a great time!

We also had a lesson on Friday with Jessica who is a very energetic person and has two teens that are members. Her daughter Lily, who is 10, asked us when she could get baptized! Her mom wasn't too thrilled about that question and tried to suppress it but we will talk to her and hopefully find out why she doesn't want Lily baptized yet.

We also went to try a random potential that Elder Hales got the feeling we should go try. He ended up not being there but we met a lady who had been taking the missionary discussions in Henderson and had moved down to Madisonville without telling anyone including the missionaries, and she said she wanted to keep meeting with us and also stop smoking! God's hand was definitely in this one! Her name is Loni and she's pretty cool!

That night when we got back to our apartment, we were talking about how when we got home, we wanted to be people that were always available and willing to help out others. While we were sitting there I saw someone moving in and so we jumped out of the car and ran to go help her! Her name is Laticia and is super nice! It was dark and rainy and there was only her mom and another guy helping her. Since she lived on the first floor which happened to be about 4 feet underground, we brought the furniture in through her sliding glass door by hopping up and down the wall surrounding her porch. Whilst doing this, I threw my leg up to get onto the wall, and split my slacks a good 6 inches in the back. Since we were already home I just ran and got dressed into P day clothes and went back and finished up. She was asking if she could give us something in return for helping her and we said, "No, but we have something to give to you. It's a book." So we gave her a book of Mormon and went home.

It was a good week. Also we had the fire alarm go off twice in our church building. Not during church, though. I love y'all and miss you! If anyone that you know I know is going on a mission, let me know! Missions are awesome!

Sincerely,
Elder Stephen Ray
