Hello everybody!
So. Like my title says, this week was Super Duper Busy. which was 80% our fault, but oh well. We had MLC on Tuesday from 9:30 to 3:30 in Louisville which was awesome! I love MLC! Right after that we had a New Zone Leader Training for Elder Terry which lasted another 2 hours, so that day was completely taken up. The next day we started an exchange with the LaGrange Elders and I went to Shelbyville with Elder Auten. He is brand new but pretty cool! That night we were helping someone move and whilst carrying a piece of furniture up the ramp backwards I slipped off and hit the corner of the moving truck and then fell onto the street. That was fun lol. I felt pretty fine afterwards, I just had to rest for the rest of the moving. The next day we went to District Council in Crestwood and gave a training on bearing testimony there and it was really fun! But then we had to drive back to shelbyville for our own District Council and interviews with President Hughes and then we started another exchange with the Elders in Frankfort. I was with the other brand new Elder, Elder Brock. After all of it was over, I was very glad to have Elder Terry back as my companion. Don't get me wrong, they are great Elders and very nice, hardworking people. But there's a difference between someone just starting their mission and Elder Terry who came out with me...
Yesterday was a miracle though. We had Freddy and his 3 kids finally come to church!!! Last week he got in a car accident and his car was impounded and he couldn't get it out, so he couldn't go to work. His boss called him in on Sunday anyways but this is pretty much what Freddy said to him, "I've been trying to go to church for the past 3 months but haven't been able to go, and you said I could take time to get everything in order so I'm going to take this time to go to church." He is now looking for another job and loved church and plans on coming back! Also, Caitlin Sterling finally came back to church as well! She and Hailey randomly showed up and it was awesome! Yup, that was yesterday. Good day.
So when I was on exchange with Elder Brock, we were riding our bikes and we stopped to talk to this guy and he just said, "I'm atheist. So he didn't want to talk to us at all and kept trying to get us to leave, so I asked him if I could give him a card and he said yes. The cards we give out just have simple questions on the front such as "how can I find lasting happiness?" and the like, and I like to play roulette with my cards, just mix them up and give people whichever one is on top. So I did so with this man and the question on it said, "Is there a God?" Fitting. Later on we stopped by an apartment of somebody we had talked to before and there was a guy sitting outside named Gill. We had talked to him a couple of weeks ago because the Spirit led us to him, but we were led to him again, and we talked to him for a bit and he was still contemplating ending his life. At the end of the long conversation I pulled out another card randomly and it said, "What is the meaning of life?" and gave it to him. It was pretty cool to not only feel the Holy Ghost telling me what to say but also placing my figurative bets on the Lord and seeing how through small and simple things great things are brought to pass. Well, That was my week! We have Zone conference coming up this week and we have to give an hour long training at that, so that'll be fun. But, I hope you all have a fantastic week!
