And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth
nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them; 1 Nephi 17:3

Day 544

May 13, 2019

My dearest darling momsy and popsicle,

Last week I didn't have enough time to fully explain, but we went biking 2 different days and it started pouring on us both days so we had to go home and change because we were soaked. Yup.

But anyways, this week was also super awesome! We are always busy as Zone Leaders which is really nice, and we are teaching plenty of amazing people as well! We met a wonderful man named Phil at church who was invited by his neighbors. And he loved church! We had a lesson with him on Friday and had a super long lesson with him getting to know him and he is super excited to read the book of mormon! He is 72 years old and such a sweet man! We also had someone that has been being taught for 2 years finally come to church and he loved it! He just has a lot of health problems and a "cracker box" of a car (that's what he calls it) and so it's been hard getting him to church, but he is so excited to be baptized and calls us 3 times a day! His name is Paul! We had some other great lessons with Caitlyn and her family and a guy named Wayne! Shelbyville is so good and people actually want to learn here!

On Tuesday I had my first MLC (Missionary Leadership Conference) and it was pretty much a Zone Conference but just for all the Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders. It was a lot of fun and we learned a bunch of new ways to use technology better to help find and teach people! Friday we had District Council and went on a quick exchange with the Frankfort Elders for a couple hours to help lift and encourage them and it was a lot of fun! I was with Elder Jacobs and we had a good lesson with Paul talking about temples. On Saturday we drove up to Crestwood and helped give a spiritual thought at a Stake youth Olympics event and President Hughes had me sing an a capella solo in front of everybody. I just pretended my shaking voice was vibrato and it all worked out haha! Anyways, it was a real good week and I'm super excited for this next week because Elder Stanfill (A member of the Seventy) is coming to our zone conferences and then we are going to have a special MLC with him, and I also hit my 18 month mark in 2 days! Time goes by fast!

Just wanted to end with a quick thought. I love my mom Suzanne Ray! I am grateful for her support and her love and her immense sacrifices for me. I truly know that motherhood is a divine calling and responsibility that my mom has performed and borne extraordinarily and I am eternally thankful for her! I would not be close to where I am today without her!

Whoever read all of that is a real trooper and deserves a gold star! I love you all and I am thankful for your support as well! Have a blessed week y'all!

Love, Elder Ray
