And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth
nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them; 1 Nephi 17:3

Garlic Bread Till I'm Dead. Also, I'm gonna be a dad!!

October 1, 2018

Hello everyone!

This past Saturday was transfer calls where we were told where we would be spending the next transfer. I am staying in Liberty for another two transfers but this next transfer is going to be super weird. Elder Peddersen is going to be my new companion... for about 4 weeks. After 2 weeks with him, I am getting a trainee. So we are going to be in a trio for about 2 weeks and then when Elder Peddersen goes home I will finish training by myself here. There were supposed to be 5 people coming out this transfer but only 2 of them are actually coming out tomorrow and then the 3rd is mine, coming on the 15th. Weird I know, but I'm gonna be a dad! Woo!

This week was alright. It went by pretty fast like always. Just the same old stuff happened this week as every other week. I went on exchange this week with Elder Tapp, the district leader, and we mostly just tracted the whole day because all of our appointments fell through. But we were able to find 3 new people that day! We haven't been back to teach any of them yet, but we will this week! We tried meeting with Lonnie and he was totally home, but didn't answer the door. I'm thinking he was just asleep, he's kinda old. We also met with Roman on Friday and asked him if he had read yet. He didn't again, for the 4th or 5th time. So we told him to read and when he finished reading one of the chapters we left with him to call us. He hasn't. We also met with Jonnie on Saturday.... He just got home so we waited on his couch for him to take a shower whilst singing random things such as Led Zepplin and the Spongebob Squarepants theme song. He is definitely the quirkiest guy we are teaching, but we read 2 Nephi 2 with him and he loved it! It completely changed his perspective on Adam and Eve and the purpose of opposition in our lives. He said he wanted to share that with other people too which was pretty cool. Then he told us he was going to come to church. He didn't. But that's just the life of a missionary. Things are going pretty well here in Liberty/Russell springs and I will be here until at least the week before Christmas.... Love you guys! Hope all is well!

Love,
Elder Stephen Ray
