Hello everyone!
This week has been full of service opportunities!! On Tuesday morning, we built a ramp for Sister Arnold who is wheelchair bound most of the time so that she can get into her house! It took about 7 hours with 4 of us working on it and it was 31 degrees the whole time, so it got pretty cold after a while! On Friday I was able to go on exchange to Shelbyville and there we helped throw trees into a worshipper. We spent about 4 hours doing that and then we went back to the apartment and took another shower. And then yesterday we helped a family that was feeding us, The Sherrats, clean their windows! I also have been interpreting for a deaf lady in our ward, which is pretty hard and stressful because I'm really not all that good at ASL, but she helps me through It and I know that my signing will get way better by the time I leave! It was all really fun!
We have many investigators but the people that we are working with the most are the Wards and the Ballingers who have been to church a few times and don't mind us coming back so often to teach them! All five of them are looking forward to their baptismal dates, but the only thing they need to do is keep meeting with us and stick with it! I've really come to love them all here while teaching them and it's amazing to see them grow in the gospel!
As many of you may know, 2 of my grandparents past away within a month of each other. I love them so much and I'm glad that they are together again, and glad that I have a knowledge of this gospel and know exactly where they are and how important the work they are doing now is! They were a great example to me and lived long, honorable lives. I hope to be like them someday! I know that what I'm doing is right and that they are proud of me. Heavenly Father loves them and he knows what he is doing. I trust him. I hope everybody is doing okay I love you all! Thank you so much for supporting me!
Love,
Elder Stephen Ray
