Hello y'all!
So this week was pretty interesting! On Monday we biked for 5 and half hours straight just talking to people and trying houses. That was exhausting. Then the next day, I asked Elder Mills what we did and he asked, "did you breathe? Then you biked." Needless to say we biked a lot this week. We got yelled at to get off some person's property because we believed in the Book of Mormons and the bible is apparently the only thing that God will ever give to us.... Which, ya know isn't true because he loves us. We found out that we have bedbugs which is super exciting! We spent a few hours deep cleaning everything and kept putting all of our sheets in the dryer because that's the only way to kill them. We moved all of our furniture and stuff into the middle of the room so we could spray and vacuum around everything to make sure they were gone. We also got Smartphones on Friday which makes missionary work a whole lot easier!
On Thursday we had a pretty good lesson finishing the commandments with the Wards and they now have been taught everything that they HAVE to be taught before their baptism. But they told us they didn't feel ready yet so they asked to push the baptism back until March 17 at 1, so that's when they will be getting baptized. We will continue to teach and love them, but transfers are next week so we both won't be able to stay here to see them baptized. We don't know who is moving yet. They are such amazing people and I can't wait until they are baptized! The other main person we are teaching, Kevin, has many concerns and he hasn't quite received an answer yet. I believe it is because of how involved he is in his church that he doesn't want to make such a big change in his life, even if it is for the better. The hardest part about being a missionary is other people's agency. All we can do is show them the way and it's up to them whether or not to accept it or not. Overall it is pretty fun and awesome to see the change in people's lives that do accept the gospel! I love you all and miss you and AZ, but it's starting to warm up here so that's going to be a very welcome change!
Love,
Elder Stephen Ray
